Contestants in the TV series, "X Factor," recently reported that they found bed bugs in the hotel that they were staying in throughout the duration of the series in Los Angeles, according to TMZ.

It was reported that four of the contestants woke up with bites all over them, and after searching, they found out that the hotel had been infested with bed bugs. They immediately contacted the producers of the show, who alerted the hotel of the problem and found a new place for the contestants to say, according to the news source.

The hotel did not comment when the media outlet called and asked about the incident.

According to the 2011 Bugs Without Borders Survey, many places have experienced a double-digit percentage growth when it comes to bed bug infestations including hotels and motels, which went from 67 percent to 80 percent in the last year.

Those who fear that they have brought bed bugs home with them after their trip may want to purchase mattress covers, as it can trap the little insects before they start biting.
