- What is CleanRest®?

CleanRest® is the name of our product line of encasements for your mattress, pillow and bedding. These encasements provide the best barrier there is to the millions of micro-toxins that build up in a mattress and prevent healthy sleep.
- What are micro-toxins?

Micro-toxins are microscopic pollutants that inhabit your mattress, pillow and bedding. Examples include dust mites, their feces, mold and other harmful allergens. Inhaling these can cause nighttime breathing problems for many people, and can trigger symptoms in allergy and asthma sufferers.
- What are dust mites?

Dust mites are a common microscopic allergen that feed mostly on the dead skin cells that humans constantly shed. Dust mites thrive in humid conditions and at common household temperatures.
- What’s the difference between dust mites and dust?

Dust is a buildup of particles that are everywhere. When a beam of light shines through the window, dust is visible to the naked eye. Dust mites are not.
- I just bought my mattress and pillow and they can’t possibly have any dust mites or other toxins in them. Why should I protect myself from something that doesn’t exist yet?

The key word here is “yet.” As soon as you use your bedding, you begin to introduce live dust mites and other harmful substances such as pet dander and mold spores that continue to accumulate over time. The only proven way to keep your bedding clean and free from these micro-toxins is to encase it in CleanRest® products.
- What happens to all of the dust mites that get encased in the CleanRest® product–do they stay in there? Or die off?

Dust mites can live as long as they have food, which consists of dead human cells, and water, which they absorb from humid air. Once you use CleanRest®, you effectively cut off their water and food supply and the dust mites begin to die off.
- I am concerned about bed bugs; will CleanRest® help to protect my sleep from these nasty critters?

Bed bugs are visible to the naked eye. During the day they try to burrow along the edges and seams of the mattress. At night they move about and look for a blood food source (your body!). While no product can prevent bed bugs from entering your home, CleanRest® can encase your mattress, pillows, box springs and duvets so that in the event your home or building becomes infested, you can properly fumigate your living space and keep the bed bugs from ever reaching your bedding.

Why are other encasements less expensive in some department stores? Are they as effective?

- Will CleanRest® help to keep my mattress cleaner?

CleanRest® encasements are waterproof and stainproof, so they can help if bedwetting is a concern, too.
- How do I clean the encasements?

Just toss them in the washer—they’re made to withstand weekly launderings in hot water. Tumble-dry on medium heat. No bleach, please, and no ironing needed.
- How do I put CleanRest® on my mattress?

It’s easy. Just slip it on, then zip it up. And best of all, you’ll be completely covered. CleanRest® fits over the top, sides and bottom. Just slip it on, then zip it up.
- My CleanRest® mattress encasement is larger on the side than the height of my mattress. What should I do, and will this affect performance?

This extra material is designed to accommodate extra-large pillow-top mattresses. Simply tuck the additional material underneath your mattress so that the top and sides are smooth and tight. The extra material will not affect the product’s ability to protect you in any way.
